House Concert on the Hillside, south Anchorage

Saturday, January 4

7 pm (recommended arrival time 6:30)

Since it is now the day of the show, please PHONE to make sure there is still space. We can squeeze a few more in (as of this morning). 907-240-2170

World-traveling musicians Tania Opland & Mike Freeman have come home to Anchorage (from their other homes in Ireland and Washington) bringing a repertoire of acoustic world music and songs drawn from the past 900 years to the present day. Hammered dulcimer, hurdy-gurdy, guitar, violin, djembe, and recorders make for a varied evening, with plenty of choruses to sing along with if you feel so inclined.

WHAT’S A HOUSE CONCERT? It’s a concert. In a house. A friendly social gathering around an actual sit-down concert in a private home.

LOCATION: Near the Prospect Heights entrance to Chugach State Park, Anchorage 99507 (ask for the address when you confirm space).

DONATION: $25.00 per seat, ALL of which goes to the musicians.

This event is appropriate for children who can sit through about two hours of music, with a small intermission. We do ask that you donate to the musicians for anyone who takes a seat.
